COMPLEXITY

Ok, so I've been doing this "natural"hair stuff for alittle over a year now, and I must say it is a very antagonizing process. Although its been giving me a great look, there are sometimes where I wanna convert back to the fresh cut days. The only thing that keeps it better is the fact that I've been recieving alot of help. The TRUE mastermind behind my hair has actually been my girlfriend. I've actually been growing out my hair long before I met her, but having her knowledge makes it so much easier than I used do things. She's been helping me maintain this natural look by giving me good names of products, different protective styles, and helpful tips to keeping those styles. Honestly without her, I would've probably got a haircut long ago. She has been doing a fantastic job of providing me with "technical support"
So anyway, a couple of days ago, she talks me into getting a trim. She explains to me that doing this will be a good way of eliminating the fairy knots Ive been getting, and a trim will make it easier to protect my ends along with helping my hair grow faster.
For this process, she required a some hair scissors, a blow dryer with an attachable comb, and some aloe juice I believe. she started combing out my head with the blow dryer comb attachment and kept it at a low heat. She started out with half of my head for comparison purposes while my other side was still curly (as seen in top picture). She did it while it was dry so it would be easier to handle, and then she began snipping away at the fairy knots. After she did my whole head she began putting aloe juice in it (*this is a good way to also remove product buildup). Finally she just twisted my hair in a protective style, and we were finally done. The whole thing took maybe 45 minutes (would've took less time if I wasn't taking pictures). It was a good experience nonetheless; I picked up some nice tips and I hope to eventually be able to do this all myself one of these days. Godspeed.
